About me
Tian Glasgow (he/him) is a queer cis Black man who grew up in London and has lived in Manchester since 2019. Tian’s work is driven by social concerns such as race and class and their impact on communities.
Tian is a Theatre Director, Senior Creative Producer and Facilitator.
Tian is currently the Programme Development Lead of Something to Aim For - an arts sector support charitable organisation. In this role, he has been piloting several programmes in the Manchester area including an artist network and bursary scheme while strategising for the best response to the upcoming challenges for artists at any stage.
As a facilitator, Tian is trained in running bespoke Grief Gatherings using the methodology devised by Fevered Sleep, he ran these alongside his play Tomorrow is not Promised due to it's themes. Working on EU residency projects based in Greece with LATRA since 2023 working with european artists from various countries coming together to investigate their practice with a decolonial lens. Most recently, working on the Waterfronts project an EU co-commission with LATRA, Götaland Engineering AB and IM Industries to have artists build their artivism practice working with their local communities in Greece, Sweden and Croatia. Tian recently attended training by Ned Glazier in creativity facilitation techniques with community groups focussing on building and sustaining autonomy utilising a practice of generous authority.
Meanwhile as a theatre director, Tomorrow is Not Promised, was developed at The Lowry with Sustained Theatre Up North. It premiered at The Lowry in 2022 and debuted at the Edinburgh Fringe in summer 2023 then went on tour to London, Oxford and Huddersfield in 2024. His newest work in development looks to the future of queer POC communities and chosen family with the verbatim piece Code Switch.
